At the end of a strenuous day of lounging at the beach, there’s nothing better than taking that new-found sun-induced energy to the dance floor. Though the laid-back nature of Hawaii might lead you to spend your nights lounging in a hammock or sifting the sand through your toes, sometimes a person just wants to let loose. Hit up the Maui clubs, where you’ll be sure to find tan bodies, loud music, and colorful drinks accented with itty-bitty umbrellas. Check out these picks for the best nightlife spots on the island.
Timba: Maui’s top nightlife destination, Timba Nightclub throws down the best parties on the island. Located right on the beach, this Maui club attracts the hottest clientele and top-notch DJs and performers. Enjoy VIP treatment from the friendly and good-looking staff, which aptly match the swank interior design. Dress to impress -- you’ll be partying among the most beautiful people on the island at the best of Maui clubs. The party only goes down three nights a week, which will give you plenty of time for recovery in between visits!
Ambrosia Martini Lounge: Positioned on the South Shore of the island, this nightclub and lounge is a favorite among Maui clubs. Though it’s rather small in size, Ambrosia packs a big punch in a little space. After a martini or two, hit up the dance floor, where the DJs spin everything from house to hip-hop to jazz and blues.
Casanova: Somewhat of an enigma, this nightclub doubles as a popular Italian restaurant in the earlier hours. When the kitchen closes, though, Casanova morphs into one of the hottest Maui clubs around. Live music is a regular occurrence, including contemporary Hawaiian music. Wednesday night is ladies night, and the space is available to rent out for events.
South Shore Tiki Lounge: Perfect for the after-beach crowd, the South Shore Tiki Lounge is a laid-back destination boasting several bars, a popular dance floor, and an outdoor lanai. Stop by during happy hour for excellent drink deals to get the night started.
Moose McGillycuddy’s: DJs spin top 40 and rock hits, and you’ll often hear live Hawaiian music echoing down the block. During the earlier hours of the evening, you’ll find pub fare and a bar scene, but after 10pm the music gets louder and the dance floor gets hotter. Though the atmosphere is casual and unassuming, Moose McGillycuddy’s is one of the most-visited Maui clubs.
The Cellar: A home-base for Maui’s electronica fans, The Cellar pumps out high-energy dance music all night long. The underground choice for club-goers on the island, this spot isn't as fancy as Timba or Ambrosia, but still promises just as much fun. Bring your game face -- the patrons of the Cellar are in it for the long haul!
